Title: Technical Assurance Manager
Provide the technical assurance that underpins safe, compliant and high‑quality project delivery
As our Technical Assurance Manager, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the safe and compliant delivery of major capital investment projects across Cadent’s network. This isn’t just about quality assurance – it’s about providing specialist technical leadership, driving best practice and ensuring our projects are delivered to the highest engineering standards.
Working within the Capital Delivery Safety & Engineering team, you’ll act as the subject matter expert across welding, non-destructive testing (NDT), coating and painting, hydrotesting, bolting and material compliance. You’ll provide technical assurance throughout the project lifecycle, supporting project teams, contractors and senior stakeholders to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with relevant standards and legislation.
This is a highly influential leadership role, offering the opportunity to shape future strategy, enhance quality assurance processes and support the successful delivery of up to £200m of capital investment projects annually.

What you’ll bring:
- Technical Assurance Experience – Strong background in quality assurance, engineering assurance, project engineering or technical compliance.
- Gas Infrastructure Knowledge – Experience working with high-pressure gas distribution assets, pipelines and above-ground installations.
- NDT & Welding Expertise – Understanding of welding procedures, NDT techniques and specialist inspection activities.
- Process Safety & Compliance Knowledge – Strong understanding of CDM Regulations, process safety principles and quality management systems.
- Stakeholder Management Skills – Proven ability to influence project teams, contractors, suppliers and senior leaders.
- Leadership Capability – Experience leading technical teams and driving high standards of performance and compliance.
- Continuous Improvement Mindset – Passion for identifying opportunities to improve standards, systems and technical performance.
Qualifications:
- HNC/HND in an Engineering discipline (minimum requirement)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (desirable)
- Professional registration (EngTech, IEng or CEng) desirable or working towards
- Qualification or training in NDT methods (PAUT, TOFD, UT, RT, MPI), coating or painting
- ISO 9001 Lead Auditor qualification (desirable)
- CDM knowledge and training
