Be the technical authority that keeps our people safe, our projects moving and our network resilient

Are you an experienced Project Assurance Engineer looking to play a pivotal role in the safe delivery of construction activities across a major gas distribution network? We're looking for two Project Assurance Engineers to join our Area Delivery Team, providing the technical expertise, governance and leadership needed to ensure the successful delivery of replacement, reinforcement and diversion projects.

In this role, you'll be at the heart of our construction programme, ensuring all Safe Control of Operations (SCO) requirements are fully implemented, complied with and continuously improved. Acting as a key technical authority, you'll authorise permitry requirements, conduct SCO audits and inspections, approve critical works information and provide assurance that all activities are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with engineering standards and legal obligations.

Working closely with Area Managers, Senior Agents, operational teams and external stakeholders, you'll support project planning, resource allocation and programme delivery, while ensuring adequate supervision is in place across construction activities. You'll also play a key role in project handovers, weekly planning meetings, stakeholder engagement with Highways Authorities, incident investigations and the continuous development of our frontline teams through coaching, mentoring and SCO training.

This is a highly visible role where you'll influence safe decision-making, promote technical best practice, identify continuous improvement opportunities and help safeguard the integrity of the gas network while delivering excellent outcomes for our customers and communities.

Develop Others
Support, mentor and train operational colleagues, helping to build technical capability and create a consistent, high-performing team culture.
