Job Purpose

We at Cadent ,are looking for a dedicated Senior E&I Engineer to join our Operation Transformation Program, to ensure effective planning and execution of team tasks, optimizing resource use and timely delivery to customers. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with excellent communication skills, taking ownership of services within agreed processes and timelines. This role involves promoting a positive safety culture, investigating and resolving complex issues, and contributing to strategic direction. The Senior E&I Engineer will demonstrate organizational values, deliver exceptional customer service, and foster an inclusive environment. Additionally, they will train and mentor team members, lead safety initiatives, identify improvement opportunities, and manage stakeholder relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Expertise: Act as a subject matter specialist on telemetry and OT systems, advising on safety and approving designs.
  • Quality & Standards: Manage standards, support quality processes, and ensure materials and techniques are fit for purpose.
  • Project Management: Develop and manage major projects, ensuring robust designs, compliance, and effective stakeholder relationships.
  • Risk & Compliance: Provide advice on risk assessments, ensure compliance with policies, and support incident investigations.
  • Collaboration & Mentorship: Build relationships with external parties, mentor team members, and promote best practices across the company.
  • Documentation & Data Management: Ensure accurate data capture, handle documentation, and support trials of new technology.
  • Operational Support: Provide Safe Control of Operations (SCO) delivery controls, review Non-Routine Operation (NRO) documentation, and manage contractor commissioning and performance testing.

Skills and Experience

Qualifications:

  • SCO 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 certifications.
  • HNC/SNVQ L4 or equivalent operational experience in network engineering.
  • IOSH Managing Safely certification.
  • Awareness of CDM Regulations 2015 (essential).
  • Valid UK Driving License.

Practical Experience:

  • 5-7 years of experience in engineering project delivery, Network Operations, SCO, or site assurance roles.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of gas plant and process systems, including safety and maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of operational technology and integrated security systems.
  • Proven ability to ensure compliance with engineering and HSE regulations.
  • Experience in site inspections, audits, and resolving non-conformances.
  • Strong understanding of risk management, engineering standards, and quality assurance.
  • Excellent communication skills for reporting and stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience managing contractor relationships and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Skilled in incident investigation and producing actionable reports.
  • Ability to coach and influence others to promote safety and compliance.
  • Understanding of Process Safety Principles, IT infrastructure, and Operational Technologies.
