As a Logistics (Warehouse) Operative at Cadent Gas, you'll be part of a dynamic team responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the supply chain. This fast-paced role requires quick thinking and exceptional organisational skills.
Working from our depot on Clayton Road, Lincoln, LN5 8RE, you will be on-site five days a week, Monday to Friday, from 7:00am to 4:00pm. Applicants must reside in or very close to Lincoln.
Your main duties will include picking, receiving, and managing materials, ensuring compliance with all legal, operational, and Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) procedures. You'll interact with internal operational customers, organising your work to meet agreed timescales and deadlines. Additionally, you'll manage the issue and receipt of materials, tools, and equipment, verify stock levels, and coordinate site waste management. This role also involves operating and maintaining mobile plant and mechanical lifting equipment safely, and being the first point of contact for customer queries and requests. You'll be working as part of a logistics team, you’ll be responsible for picking, receiving, and managing materials within the supply chain. You will work in an effective and compliant operation, ensuring adherence to all legal, operational, and Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) procedures. Interacting with internal operational customers you’ll be required to organise your own work in order to meet agreed timescales and deadlines.
- Delivering Quality Outputs: Carrying out all work associated with Issue and receipt of materials, plant, tools, equipment, and road traffic signs and barriers, via a warehouse management system.
- Attention to detail: Undertaking the verification of stock levels as required, and control of process for non-stock & PPE items. Coordinating site waste management. Operating and using mobile plant, mechanical lifting and handling equipment, and other equipment properly and safely; ensuring that they are correctly checked, maintained and stored
- Customer Service: First point of contact for customer queries and requests. On request, assisting and participating in standby/ call-out arrangements and roving stores duties.
What you will bring
- Desirable Experience & Qualifications: Must have experience in this type of role and/or have Warehouse experience. Trained to NVQ level 2 (or equivalent) in distribution and warehousing. Forklift, Telehandler / Combi Lift / VNA (Very Narrow Aisle) licences - all non essential.
- Health & Safety Conscious: A knowledge of good practice relating to Health and Safety Regulations, including Hazard reporting and safety conversation competent
- IT & Other Skills: Good reading, writing, and mathematical skills. Computer literate. Excellent customer service & clear communication skills, with focus on attention to detail
