Location: Base location will be Hollinwood - 5 days per week in office with requirement to visit other Cadent and supplier sites as required

What you'll get to work on

We are looking for an experienced National Transport Specialist to oversee compliance across the business, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance. This role provides an excellent opportunity to manage the company's fleet compliance while leading improvements in all aspects of transport operations. As the National Transport Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring that all vehicles are roadworthy and compliant with legal standards, maintaining safety protocols, and effectively managing budgets. You will oversee driver performance and implement initiatives to reduce insurance claims. You will be expected to ensure that accurate records and schedules are maintained. A critical aspect of the role is enforcing health and safety procedures, with a focus on ensuring compliance and implementing safety improvements.

You will be experienced in a transport management role, ideally with depot or warehouse management experience. Familiarity with FORS Bronze and Silver requirements is essential, and experience working with a mix of LCV and HGV drivers. A Management CPC qualification is mandatory. This role requires a strong leader who is innovative and forward-thinking, capable of developing relationships with remote teams while maintaining high operational standards. You will be a logical thinker, able to remain calm and determined under pressure, with a proactive approach to solving problems and achieving goals

 

Who are we looking for

  • Valid UK Driving Licence
  • Holds or working towards CPC Qualification 
  • Member of the Institute of Logistics and Transport or other professional qualification in a Fleet related discipline (Desirable)
  • Good understanding of relevant SHEs and transport legislation, associated codes of practice and other guidance, including car, LCV, HGV and Operator Licencing
  • Extensive knowledge of Government VOL Operator Licence system and Operator Licence compliance
  • Strong understanding of risk management principles and tools
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work collaboratively across different departments.
