In this exciting role, you’ll be instrumental in crafting and influencing energy strategies, regulatory frameworks, and market mechanisms that support the shift towards sustainable gas solutions. Whether it’s hydrogen, biomethane, or hybrid heating systems, your insights will help position Cadent as a leading voice in the energy sector, driving forward-thinking solutions that meet the challenges of tomorrow.

 

You’ll combine strategic foresight with rigorous economic modelling and policy analysis to guide Cadent’s transition planning. Working closely with internal teams and engaging with key external stakeholders, including government departments, regulators, and industry leaders. You’ll deliver evidence-based recommendations that shape the future of the UK’s gas distribution network.

What You'll Bring

 

  • Qualifications – Degree level or equivalent experience (essential). Preferably in Business, Finance, or Economics.
  • Experience – Strong understanding of UK energy markets and regulated networks. Proven experience in economic modelling and policy analysis.
  • Skills – Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to influence strategically and think creatively.
  • Technical Expertise – Experience in regulatory frameworks, market arrangements, and whole system planning across gas and electricity networks.
  • Commercial Awareness – Deep understanding of the financial and economic impacts of energy policy and incentives.
