Title: Planning and Scheduling Manager

We’re looking for an experienced and driven Planning & Scheduling Manager to lead our planning and control room function across the East Midlands.
This is a key leadership role, responsible for ensuring operational plans are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with customer and business expectations.

As a Planning & Scheduling Manager, you’ll play a critical role in translating strategy into delivery. You’ll lead a team responsible for planning and scheduling complex work programmes, ensuring visibility, resource alignment, and performance across multiple workstreams.
This is a high impact role where you’ll combine leadership, data insight, and stakeholder collaboration to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
What you’ll be doing
Lead planning and control room operations
- Manage and develop the planning, scheduling, and control room team
- Ensure operational plans are delivered safely, efficiently, and on time
Develop and optimise work programmes
- Translate strategic plans into detailed delivery schedules
- Oversee multiple workstreams, ensuring alignment and efficiency
Collaborate & drive delivery
- Work closely with internal teams, supply chain partners, and highway authorities
- Deliver against regulatory and business targets
Drive performance & continuous improvement
- Analyse performance data and identify areas for improvement
- Use MI and insights to support decision making and planning efficiency
What you’ll bring
You’ll be a confident leader with strong operational and commercial awareness. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment and be passionate about driving performance, improving processes, and developing high performing teams.
Experience
- Proven experience in planning, scheduling, or programme management
- Experience working with MRP systems (essential)
Skills
- Good understanding of GSOP requirements, Jeopardy Management, and Streetworks
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to manage challenging conversations
- Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to drive improvements
