As a Personnel Security Specialist at Cadent, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding our people and infrastructure by leading the delivery of National Security Vetting (NSV) and personnel risk management across the business. This is a high-trust, high-impact role where your expertise in vetting, risk assessment, and protective security will directly support Cadent’s mission to protect the UK’s energy infrastructure.



You’ll work closely with HR, government departments, and internal stakeholders to ensure that our personnel security practices are robust, compliant, and aligned with national standards. You’ll also be a key voice in shaping our security culture and leading initiatives that protect our people and assets.

What you'll bring:

 

You are a detail-oriented and security-minded professional with a strong background in personnel security and vetting processes.

 

  • Qualifications & Experience – Membership of a recognised security institution (or willingness to work towards), with a proven track record in personnel security and NSV processes.
  • Security Knowledge – Understanding of protective security principles, NSV standards, and data protection requirements.
  • Analytical Skills – Ability to assess risk, interpret complex information, and produce clear, actionable reports.
  • Communication Skills – Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Professional Integrity – High level of discretion and commitment to handling sensitive data responsibly
