Title: Financial Controls Specialist
Strengthen financial integrity through controls and compliance
We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Financial Controls Specialist to join our team at Ansty Business Park on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Financial Controls Manager, you’ll play a key role in maintaining a robust internal control environment, supporting compliance activities, and contributing to continuous improvement across Cadent’s financial processes.
This is a fantastic opportunity to grow your career in a dynamic finance function, with exposure to financial reporting, audit, and wider CFO activities. You’ll work closely with process owners, control owners, and external auditors to ensure our controls are effective, compliant, and future-ready.

- Controls Testing – Support the design and execution of control testing cycles, including operational effectiveness and compliance reviews.
- Stakeholder Engagement – Work with internal teams and external auditors to ensure smooth audit delivery and resolution of control issues.
- Process Improvement – Identify and promote best practices, supporting improvements in documentation, compliance, and control frameworks.
- Regulatory Awareness – Monitor changes in legislation and standards, ensuring Cadent remains compliant and audit-ready.
- Reporting & Analysis – Prepare detailed reports, maintain documentation repositories, and support the development of performance metrics.
What you’ll bring:
- Qualifications –
- Qualified accountant with a UK-recognised body
- Experience & Skills –
- Strong background in internal controls testing or regulatory compliance
- Ability to assess and map business processes and controls
- Experience with audit processes, risk and control matrices, and test scripts
- Proficient in Excel, Visio, Word, and PowerPoint
- Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
- Self-starter with strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Knowledge of tax, company law, and compliance frameworks is a plus
