As a Commercial Manager at Cadent, you’ll play a pivotal role in defining and delivering commercial strategy across our network operations. This is more than a contract management role – it’s an opportunity to influence how we optimise performance, manage risk, and create value for our customers and stakeholders.
Working across a complex and evolving environment, you’ll lead a team to deliver commercial oversight on major programmes, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and strong financial performance. From managing supplier relationships and contracts to driving innovation and continuous improvement, you’ll operate at the centre of decision-making that impacts our business and customers every day.
You’ll collaborate closely with senior leaders, operational teams, and external partners to align commercial strategy with business goals. What you’ll bring
You’re an experienced commercial leader with a strong track record of delivering results in complex, regulated or operational environments.
Commercial Expertise – Strong knowledge of contract management, procurement, and commercial strategy, ideally within construction or infrastructure environments.
Leadership Capability – Experience leading and developing teams, with a focus on performance, engagement, and continuous improvement.
Strategic Thinking – Ability to interpret financial and operational data to inform decision-making and drive business outcomes.
Stakeholder Management – Skilled at building relationships, influencing decisions, and working collaboratively at all levels.
Contract & Risk Management – Experience managing contracts (e.g. NEC or similar), resolving disputes, and balancing risk with commercial opportunity.
Customer & Business Focus – A commitment to delivering excellent customer outcomes while supporting wider business objectives.
