Careers at Cadent

Meet Eimante. Injury sidelined her football career, but kicked off her new journey as a Cadent engineer.

This International Women in Engineering Day (June 23rd) we’re celebrating fantastic engineers here at Cadent. Engineers like Eimante Kaite, in our East of England Network.

Eimante harboured dreams of a career in football and, as a 14-year-old, had impressed at trials with Watford. Then disaster struck, with a serious knee injury.

“I think people generally look for the worse in a situation, but I always look for some positives,” said Eimante. “Yes, my chance at professional football had gone, but maybe that was meant to happen. One door closed and another door opens.”

Thankfully, one of those doors was Cadent’s. Last year, Eiamente joined our apprenticeship scheme and is now in training to be a gas engineer. We’re delighted she picked us!
